Week of 04/12 – 04/16 Activity: Explore foods from many cultures.Try new foods: mango, chapati (flatbread), tzatziki (yogurt dip), hummus (chickpea dip), samosa (pastry triangles), couscous (grain), falafel (chickpea patties), quesadilla and tofu. Offer new foods to your child with familiar foods. Try small amounts at first. It can take 10 to 15 times before your child accepts a new food.

Week of 03/29 – 04/02 Activity: Unleash the creativity in your kids by letting them create their dinner into a Picasso design or animal. Use vegetables, shredded cheese, chopped nuts, cornflakes or whatever you have that goes with your dinner. This will make your child have fun while creating a tasty meal.

ESTIMATED TIME: 30 MINUTES to 1 HOUR

Week of 03/15 – 03/19 Activity: Studies that have explored the consequences of exposing infants to a variety of foods suggest that the schedule used to introduce new foods is important. Have your child explore a certain type of food and get familiar with the taste. This can help a children learn about food and be exposed to its texture, taste or appearance.

Parents should definitely be apart of this experience, and guide their child through the process. A parent should try the certain foods with their child and go through the entire routine together.
